The 2024 Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation raised $868K to support efforts to provide healthcare and essential medical supplies to those in need.  

The Auction proceeds will be donated to Direct Relief, and funds collected through a “Stand Up and Be Counted” paddle raise will benefit Community Health Centers of the Central Coast.

Stand Up and Be Counted Paddle Raise to benefit Community Health Centers of the Central Coast.

The Santa Barbara Wine Auction is a biennial event where the wine industry comes together to raise funds for Direct Relief’s work to provide essential medical resources to doctors and community health workers worldwide, regardless of politics, religion, or ability to pay. 

Join us on Friday, Saturday or all weekend long, as Santa Barbara County’s winemakers, business leaders and philanthropists come together for an incredible weekend of wine and charitable giving.

Sample wines and mingle with the winemakers behind the award-winning wines of Santa Barbara County.  Enjoy a performance from the Tepusquet Tornadoes, a local band featuring some of our very own vintners! Browse and bid on unique silent auction items featuring rare local wines and wine country experiences and preview custom painting by Featured Artist Pedro de la Cruz, created especially for the Gala’s Live Auction.

The evening begins with a reception featuring local sparkling wines, and a last look at the silent auction before it closes that evening.  The Gala Dinner will feature a dinner by Guest Chefs Neal Fraser (Redbird LA), Jason Paluska (the Lark) and Lincoln Carson.  Andrew Firestone will kick off the live auction benefiting Direct Relief including a custom painting by Featured Artist Pedro de la Cruz, and the paddle raise to follow for Community Health Centers of the Central Coast.  The evening will honor Presqu’ile as our Winery Honoree, for the extensive contributions to our local community.

We are proud to honor Presqu’ile, a family-owned winery in Santa Maria who have exemplified the mission “Grounded in Giving” as the Honorary Winery for the 2024.

Presqu’ile winery is owned by the Murphy family, who have been steadfast in their respect for the land, dedication to the farmworker community and commitment of giving back. For more than a decade, the Murphy Family Foundation’s support of our community has been extensive; giving well over $1,000,000 to charities throughout Santa Barbara County. ABOUT THE SANTA BARBARA WINE AUCTION

The 2024 Wine Auction celebrates its 13th year of vintners helping our community and those affected by natural disasters and other hardships. 

The Saturday gala will begin with a reception featuring a ”Bubbles Bar” and canapes.  Guests can browse the silent auction lots, including rare wines and wine country experiences.

Dinner will be served in the ballroom, with each course prepared by award-winning chefs Neal Fraser (Redbird, Los Angeles), Lincoln Carson and Jason Paluska (The Lark, Santa Barbara). Guests may then enjoy the entertainment and live auction benefitting Direct Relief. Following the live auction is the “Stand Up and Be Counted” paddle raise, and proceeds from that portion of the event will go towards Community Health Centers of the Central Coast.

WHO THE AUCTION HAS HELPED

  • PROVIDING MEDICINES TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN ALL 50 U.S. STATES

    Direct Relief strengthens America’s healthcare safety net by providing medicines and medical supplies to nonprofit community clinics and health centers serving low-income and underserved people.

  • SAVING CHILDREN FROM PNEUMONIA

    With support from Direct Relief, aid organization Last Mile Health (known in Liberia as Tiyatien Health) trained 10 Frontline Health Workers (FHW) in the last year to identify, treat, and refer children with symptoms of pneumonia – the number one cause of death of children under five worldwide.

  • EQUIPPING EMERGENCY MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS WITH MOBILE PACKS

    Direct Relief provides Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers, other first responders, and health outreach workers with ruggedized backpacks filled with medical supplies to help address community health needs during disasters.

  • IMPROVING MATERNAL HEALTH WORLDWIDE

    Direct Relief has equipped midwives, supported programs of obstetric fistula repair, increased access to cervical cancer screening, and has provided general medical aid in support of children’s health programs.

STAND UP AND BE COUNTED

At the end of the live auction, the emcee will announce the ‘Stand up and be Counted” portion of the evening wherein guests are invited to “Stand Up” and pledge an amount to give to Community Health Centers of the Central Coast.

Community Health Centers is a non-profit organization with the mission to enhance the health status of all people in the Central Coast of California, with special emphasis on the medically underserved. In addition to their multiple clinics, CHC also has a fleet of mobile medical units that are capable of bringing health care directly into the vineyards.

Direct Relief has been a long time supporter of CHC and now our vintners Foundation is adding to the support of Community Health Centers of the Central Coast by focusing this portion of the wine auction to this cause.
